About ETAX
Government & Public Sector
Egypt

ETAX operates in Egypt's public sector, where accurate and timely pricing intelligence underpins fair markets, sound policy and confident decision-making.

Pricing analysis at ETAX had grown into a manual, repetitive effort — data gathered by hand from many sources, held in scattered files, and analyzed after the fact. As the volume of pricing data grew, the process needed to become faster, more consistent and far easier to scale.

ETAX turned to Phoenix — as an AWS partner — to design and build a modern, cloud-native foundation that could collect, store, analyze and visualize pricing data automatically, and put clear insights in front of business users.

Executive summary

ETAX needed to automate and modernize its pricing-analysis process end to end. Phoenix designed and implemented an AWS-based data and AI platform that automatically collects pricing data, stores and manages it centrally, analyzes the information, and delivers dashboards and insights to business users.

The result is a scalable, AWS-native foundation for automated pricing analysis — improving data visibility, removing manual effort, and enabling data-driven decisions, all built on least-privilege security from the ground up.

Before · Challenges & opportunities

What the customer needed to solve.

Automate a manual, time-consuming pricing-analysis process that relied on gathering data by hand.

Collect pricing data reliably and on a schedule from multiple external sources.

Store and manage growing volumes of data centrally, with versioning and durability.

Analyze the data consistently and apply AI/analytics to surface meaningful insights.

Give business users clear dashboards, reporting and visibility for decision-making.

Build on a secure, scalable foundation with least-privilege access and no hardcoded credentials.

How Phoenix delivered

The approach.

  1. Provision a secure AWS VPC with public and private subnets — a NAT gateway for controlled outbound access, and workloads isolated in the private subnet.

  2. Run scheduled pricing-data scraping on Amazon EC2, collecting data automatically from source without manual effort.

  3. Store raw data and artifacts in Amazon S3 — scalable, durable object storage with versioning for full data lineage.

  4. Use Amazon Aurora Serverless v2 as the database layer, scaling capacity automatically with demand.

  5. Apply analytics and AI with Amazon SageMaker AI — using notebooks to explore, model and analyze the collected pricing data.

  6. Deliver dashboards, reporting and data visualization to business users through Amazon QuickSight.

  7. Enforce least-privilege security throughout with AWS IAM roles and temporary credentials — no hardcoded access keys.

The architecture

AWS-native by design.

A secure, scalable foundation — from automated data collection through to analytics, AI and business-ready dashboards.

ETAX pricing-analysis AWS architecture — a VPC with public and private subnets, EC2 for web scraping and Amazon SageMaker in the private subnet, feeding the ETAX model consumed by users.

High-level view of the AWS-native platform: data science engineers work inside a secured VPC where Amazon EC2 handles scheduled scraping and Amazon SageMaker powers analytics and AI — feeding the pricing model that business users rely on.
